Yovanny Saracual (Venezuela, 1968), studied at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas Eloy Palacios, between 1985-1987 in Maturín, his hometown. He then continued his education at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas Cristóbal Rojas in Caracas, from where he graduated in 1992.

The artist goes through several stages in his wide artistic career. His early works tended to a constructivist language, with a symbolism of figures typical of a rural environment. His second stage shows the transition between these first scenarios to city spaces, in which labyrinthine and dreamlike buildings appear. The figure of the horse accompanies these compositions, in reduced size, almost like a vanishing point to direct the gaze of the viewer. His next work is purely figurative. The horse has a leading presence, adorned with decorative elements and in galloping poses. After residing in the United States, the artist incorporates another theme associated with transit into his work, with a language that reinforces formal values. Horses and urban settings continue to appear, but the color gives the work a lively stamp, high chromaticism and a spectrum of dreamlike effects.
