Julián Villafañe
Julián Villafañe was born in Mérida, Venezuela (1969), the city where he lives to this day. Throughout his career as a visual artist, he has focused on different figures. His first and most emblematic pictorial production, which he conceived in the early 2000s, was dedicated to ice cream vendors. In it “the artist paid a small tribute to the Haitian immigrants who are dedicated to this trade”, comments Katherine Chacón. Later, he also considered other models, such as dolls, flowers, couples. Arte Original presents a selection of oil paintings on canvas, from his most recent creative production, where we observe that his sensibility and expressive need continues to inspire and honor everyday figures and objects.
