- Style: Abstract Expressionism / Informalism
Gabriel Agustín Sosa was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1970. The artist attributes his approach to the visual arts as well as the discovery of his sensibility and creativity to his mentor and wife. Currently he declares himself “completely immersed in this creative journey with energy and passion”, devoted to experimenting with techniques and developing his pictorial discourse.
The selection of artworks presented by Arte Original are abstract and linked to the dripping technique. This artistic production of Sosa could be defined as gestural, or in action. He uses brushes, sticks and various media while applying liquid paints in large quantities, saturating, splashing, spreading, dripping, generating spontaneous shapes and stains, playing with color and the material on which he is painting on.
His work refers to materiality as it has decorative attributes. Nonetheless, the painter explains he “seeks to address the evocation of beauty, as well as the positive impact on emotional well-being. This occurs by transmitting feelings and emotions which would be welcomed by the sensitive parts within our soul”.
